See, that all makes sense now. While I am not an excellent hunter I do know I have come a long way. None in my family were hunters or fishers. I wanted to do both since I can remember. Taught myself about hunting, with the help of people like you guys who were willing to take the time sharing what they have learned.

So after I got my boat going figured it was a cake walk. Wrong. It may be like hunting, but there is still some differences I just can't seem to put my finger on.

So you said that you went to the rock at noon. Were you just passing by at that time while being out in the morning, or did you just get out there for an afternoon fish, or did you pick that time based on past experience?

There are times when I will go out in the woods when people are scratching their heads. I just have learned when certain spots produce the best activity at certain times.

No I was tired from the night before so I didn't leave the house till 11:30. I don't fish a particular time truthfully I pay no attention to any of the fishing time charts I believe you can catch fish at anytime if you find what they want. I went to that area as the stripers are there and I knew it. But happened to notice not a soul around the rock. It is not visible to the eye you have to find it on sonar. It is actually 8 different rocks close to each other and if you go over to fast you will miss the area. I stumbled on it purely by accident a few years ago. truthfully I thought about dropping a brush pile on it but then realized that would show up on sonar and the harder it is to find this spot the better.
