Nighthawk Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I see that the projected release for tomorrow is 20mw. Does this mean that minimum flow is in effect? Is this a wadeable level?
Ham Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 20 MW is more than minimum flow. It is washable in some areas, but most of those areas would be beat accessed by boat. Perhaps you could rent a kayak. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members Col Ron Posted July 13, 2013 Members Posted July 13, 2013 Ham is correct, minimum flow is zero MW, under 800cfs released water. Jimmy "T", and his website had a good suggestion. Minimum flow can get dangerous, especially if you are in the middle of the river in the catch and release area. The flow will increase without the siren or horn going off. Since the water level is higher because of the minimum flow, it maybe wise to invest in an inflatable life preserver. When the water is 700 to 800 cfs, there are a lot more holes out there that surprise you. Be safe Col Ron
Ham Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 There are areas downstream where I can wade mid river at 1800 CFS, but just barely. I really like the kayak as a water taxi idea. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members Col Ron Posted July 14, 2013 Members Posted July 14, 2013 Interesting today, had 6,7, and 8 mwh running and had the cfs in the 700 to 800's. I believe like the Army Corp gentleman told me over the phone, they will be experimenting to get the outcome they want. Haven't seen the 590cfs yet.
Nighthawk Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 where can I find the cfs and elevation of the river?
