dennis boatman Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ...if I took advice on my fishing destinations, I'd probably never leave the house...go try it...make it an adventure...prove everyone wrong...there are pools on that little creek with nice smallmouth..."skinny" water may turn off lots of anglers, but they still have fish...GO, have fun, and report back...do it for yourself...everyone on this forum has there own little "secret" creek...make this one yours... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
2sheds Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I think Roubidoux is definitely worth a stop if you are passing by. Find the city park in Waynesville off old Rt 66 down Olive Street. Fish from there & downstream for 1 mile (just past the water treatment plant outlet). Nice mix of smallmouth, goggle eye, and hopefully some residual stocker rainbows and browns.
Buzz Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It's on my list of creeks to fish. Give it a try and report back. I lived in Richland and Swedeburg when I was a child. One of these days I'll go back and do some fishing. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ollie Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 2sheds nailed the location where I have always caught some fish. Last time I fished it my son's uncle caught a nice 16" bow just downstream from the spring. First time I ever went there I was looking at where the spring comes out and I started to see lots of bubbles coming up and I didn't know what to think until I saw a couple of divers coming out of the spring! It was pretty cool I thought. You can scuba dive back into the spring a couple of miles from what I found out. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Lee G if you want to try your hand at trout the Niangua might work for you. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
lee G. Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Been planing on that too, I fished there in the 60s and early 70s, lots of good memory's.
