J-Doc Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 And my wife wonders why I dislike ski boats. This moron was pulling a skier in the dark. I had to adjust the contrast on the photos just so you could see the ski boat pulling a skier with no anchor or navigation lights on. Not only is the skier in danger, but so is the moron that doesn't obey the law. Its goof balls like this that make me wish we actually had to have a boaters operating license. I would gladly go take the course and get mine if needed if it would somehow educate people who do not know any better. My hope is that it would at least make the lake safer for all of us. wc1063 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 They are just asking for trouble, but then again, I think I might have done that a few times when I was young(with lights, but still dangerous)! I'm happy that I'm still alive and kicking after all the stupid things I've done when I was younger!!
J-Doc Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Yeah, I won't open that Pandora's box on things we did when we were younger. This REALLY caught my eye. I was driving by and looking to see if there was a late afternoon topwater bite in PC and saw this at the old PC Road launch. I whipped out the phone and took a couple of photos. It amazes me at how little the pleasure boaters know about boating and how much the fishing community seems to "get it". F&F and I witnessed many morons at the Rocky Branch area mid-day Saturday. We were both trolling the same run when a wake boat went by less than 100ft from me pulling their 5-6yr old little girl. Mom and Dad both looked at me with rods out on both sides and me just shaking my head. They just didn't care. "They had a right to do whatever they want where they want"....I can hear it now. Oh and how can I forget the Scarab boat the crossed my lines behind my boat and when he came back, he had the bow up about 45 degrees so the jetskiers behind him could jump his massive wake. And for some reason..........there is an unmistakable connection between rich bald men in their 50's and expensive boats that make the biggest wakes. GRRRRrrrrrrrrrr........... Need marine repair? Feathers and Fins Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Yup im sure the dock owners were happy as well with the boats throwing massive wakes right at the docks. It is a broken record but a little law enforcement with citation book in hand would stop a lot of this. You failed to mention the wake boat with a bunch of kids NOT wearing life vest! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
kwall Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 My gripe is --- I could care less if these idiots hurt themselves anymore, but it seems to me that their idiot ways almost always hurt the innocent ones next to them minding the law and there own buissiness and this goes with any activity -- cell phone texting on the roads being another example as well as the boating you guys mentioned , Double GRRRrrrrrr!!
Quillback Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I can't wait for the weather to get cold, that's the only thing that gets the idiots off the lake.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Not all of them Quill. I have had them in thier wake boats in winter try and come in and run through my decoys during hunting season. Middle of winter and some idiot is always got to come try it. Go-pro this year is going to be turning them for Hunter Harassment. I have got tired of it and there is no reason at all for it other than intentional harassment. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
JohnF52 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Why I don't go to the lake on weekends any more, now that I am down to working only 2 or 3 days a week in my semi retirement. Mondays and Tuesdays are best. Sunday evenings are ok if you go late enough. The weekend crowds are tired and sunburned by then.
nathanhooper Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Idiots are idiots. Fact of life. More rules and regulations are not going to make them less of an idiot, or even make it to where there are less of them. Enforcement of the current rules and regulations needs to happen before more gets put in place. If they cannot regulate what they already have, then they cannot regulate more. All more rules do is make it more of a pain for those who follow them anyways. I understand the want for them, but sometimes we get caught up in our anger without thinking of the reality of things.
J-Doc Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Well said Nathan. Oh and Sunday evenings for me have been as bad as 2-5pm Sat. It varies. Seems people are wanting the late afternoon now thinking its cooler. And the fact that its the end of the weekend and people are trying to maximize their daylight before going back to work.
