Feathers and Fins Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Starting Sunday the games start. Preseason gets me through to College as I don't normally watch Pro until toward the end of the season when it gets interesting https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
On The Fly 6 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Me neither. I get more in to college then I do pro. I love the trash talking that starts on every social media outlet! Quillback Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Roll Tide! HAHA just kidding. But I am looking forward to the Bama at A&M game.
ozark trout fisher Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I definitely like college ball more than the NFL......but I'm excited for both. One thing the NFL is good for is getting through those first 3-4 weeks of college football when everyone is playing Georgia State and Florida Atlantic. There are a couple good opening week games this year though (for scouting purposes, I'm really looking forward to Ole Miss/Vandy, two teams Missouri could find themselves in very close games with later this fall.) I certainly plan to watch Mizzou/Murray State but I'm hoping for very little excitement there.
Quillback Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 First Hawgs game I would consider watchable is the 9/21 game at Rutgers.
On The Fly 6 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I hope Rutgers comes away with another W over the Hogs. That'd put a smile on my face! Quillback Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I hope Rutgers comes away with another W over the Hogs. That'd put a smile on my face! If they do, that will be a bad sign for the Hogs season.
ozark trout fisher Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Looks like the epic Texas AM/Bama game may be on hold, if Manziel doesn't get out of this NCAA investigation clean, sooner rather than later. It will probably be an epic beatdown if he can't play. I'm hoping he can play and have a good season, but even so, I don't think that Heisman trophy was good for him. Chances are, it will be another Cam Newton, and he'll never get any formal sanctions out of this though. I don't like the NCAA rules that make this a problem in the first place so I'm fine with it if that happens.
Quillback Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Yeah I would like to see Johnny Football play against Alabama. It will be a bummer if he gets benched. NCAA is going to have to do something as far as players being able to make money off their images. There's just too much money sloshing around college football, players are going to want some of it.
Feathers and Fins Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 The NCAA will NEVER do anything about it. They dug their feet in years ago and wont change pure and simple it is all about money for the NCAA. The best thing that can happen is these superstar college kids leave the college as fast as they can and get on with their pro careers. The only way these kids will ever make money during their college time is for a private league separate and out of reach of the NCAA to come along. Who knows maybe The Donald might do this. Then watch the NCAA scramble to change the rules when they start loosing millions of dollars as the best of the best get recruited to the private college league. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
