Old plug Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 you can always go on the Mississippi River above Alton. Some good tubing water up there above where the Golden Eagle crosses. Lot's of sand bars to hang out on. WOW!!! I cant believe the Golden Eagle is still running. I have ridden that ferry more times than I can count. Fish a lot on Swan Lake. There used to be fish camp up there called Bim's Place. I grew up with Bims son. Had a cabin up there as a young guy that was a bit like a hide away For the other interest of a young fisherman. I have nit been near there since I was about 23 yrs old.

Below is a listing of lakes located within and owned by the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation where boating is permitted. All these lakes, except Unger, have launching ramps and associate support facilities (parking, docks, etc.). Unger Lake has no hard surfaced access and boats must be portaged to the water.
