Brian Sloss Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Just got back from checking the 11 Pt river at Greer. It is out of its banks. The parking lot is under water as is part of the campground. Don't come this way to fish for a while folks. Wish I had a camera with me. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Members bubbaray Posted December 1, 2006 Members Posted December 1, 2006 Had seven inches of sleet on the deck this morning in Cuba Missouri. No idea how much snow. It blowed around so much I got drifts 4 foot deep. Had to shovel 2 feet out of the dog pen this morning so the dogs could get out of their dog door. Hey it will be better in May I predict.
Gary Lange Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Now that Seaweed Soup sounds a little better John. I think I could try that for sure. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Danoinark Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Here in Harrison, no snow overnight, just yesterdays less than a 1/4 inch of sleet. Road clear. Heck I might go fishing tomorrow... For you Buffalo River floaters. Ponca to Kyles is over 5 ft at the Ponca bridge. Way over unsafe right now. Wish I had a picture of that level. hank franklin Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Minor flood stages are welcome news. Every river in the Ozarks needs a good wash. I wouldn't wish a power outage on anyone this time of year. Otherwise I'll take all the rain and snow we can get.
McManus Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 This explains why my son Matt and Tom James left KC this morning at 8AM to go to Bennett Spring for catch and release.....makes great logic to those two...noone else will be there. McManus Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 The duo of idiots just called from Sand Spring Resort. They made it to Bennett. According to Matt the interstate was the worst part of the trip. "Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau
MTM Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Like I sais we had about 5 or 6 inchs here but the wind is blowing and most of it is now in North Dokata and my driveway. About two feet in the drive way. Had to use the 4x4 with a blad to break it out. Stuff gets so hard you can walk on it. I saw were there was a town in Missouri that got 19 inches. They can have it LOL. Just hope everyone stays safe. Ron
Terry Beeson Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 The "seaweed" soup is a Portuguese receipe that we got when I was stationed in the Azores. It's actually a mix of olive oil, water, potatoes, spinach, and cabbage blended to a fine mix and then slow cooked. It has a slight green tint and the long strands of spinach looks like seaweed, hence the name. My wife adds chopped polish sausage to give it some meat. It's actually pretty good. John Deer chili here with mexican cornbread... mmmmmmm..... Hey, John... can you...well.. your wife... be a little more specific on that recipe? It sounds like something I'd enjoy. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I had snow knee deep in my driveway this morning when I left for work. No 4x4, and no blade! Took me 45 minutes to get out of the drive and one block from the house. After that, the going was much better with the main roads and highways bladed. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
