Duck Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Butler Creek had major flash flooding and lots of damage. A lady and her car were washed into the creek at the crossing of 187 but was save down stream some how. The bridge itself is closed with lots of erosion and rail damage. The Railroad Winery had its building washed down stream to where the bad " S " curve is and most grapes destroyed. I have been down here through the major floods and have never seen anything close to this damage.Trees up rooted in many places.and fences full of debris. If anyone does not heed flash flood warning they should view this area. Stay safe a go around. Duck
fishingaddiction Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I use that route to get to the rock all the time, and am headed over there Friday after work. So the Beaver bridge is damaged, and closed? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Duck Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 They reopened the bridge but I would check for closures if they need to work on it. Duck
fishingaddiction Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I am watching the weather very close today, as I plan to leave Rogers about 5:00 pm. What would you advise as far as route? If the bridge is open, and the roads are not damaged, I will take 187 over the bridge to connect to hwy 23. How do you check the status of the beaver bridge? Thanks for your help Duck! Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Duck Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 I assume you will be coming on 62, if there are no signs at 187 I am sure its open and passable. If I hear anything either way I will post it here for you. Duck
kjackson Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I just passed the Highway 23 end of 187, and there were no signs warning of the bridge being closed. With the water dropping (at least right now), I'm guessing that it's open, but that is all it is, a guess.
fishingaddiction Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Thank you both for the information provided. I hope that everyone who lives over there is okay, and that it stops raining to give us a chance to dry out. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
