  1. Very nice shots of the schooling bass.
  2. I too struggled Saturday morning. Wore the paint off a wart and threw the blade some but could only manage a couple of shorts in about 4 hours of work. Your advice on covering water has merit.
  3. Very nice looking heads Travis. If I am fishing with anything at or above 3/8 oz I am using a skirted football jig with a trailer. Your extra large heads would certainly have a different look for those deep fish.
  4. I have been using the buckeye's with the screw lock head for years. The short shank hook is just right for the smaller plastics. Like Ab I use 1/8 to 1/4 size depending on how deep and windy the conditions. Hook Line & Sinker in Rogers also makes a Bass X head that has a longer shank hook that is useful for larger plastics and especially big worms, it also has a screw lock head. These are good in heavier weights.
  5. There won't be any kids catching those hard pulling K's you caught, because they are sitting on your dining room table.
  6. Great looking Gills and even more fun to catch and eat.
  7. Very productive day of catching for only half a day. Good looking small jaws.
  8. Great reports on your time on the Rock. Good old fashion family fun at it's finest. Put several fish in the live well last Sunday for some pictures later and when I released them, the well had several of the same color craws you mention. Two small ones had just been eaten and were intact.....green pumpkin body with orange tips.
  9. If they keep eating like that they may be 15" before we know it. Keep relaxing and catching with the kids. I commend you for the love of fishing you have instilled in them. Special times.
  10. Good stuff Dave. I fished the KC area some last weekend and can confirm the shear numbers caught of the 6 to 12" smallies is enormous. Granted it will be a quiet a few years before these fish are keepers, but the future for the small mouth in the Rock is looking good.
  11. That is the most vivid rainbow I have ever seen in person or picture. I would suggest you enlarge the pic and have it framed. Thanks for the James River report.
  12. Excellent post Cody! Your message would be a great guide for any young father to follow.
  13. Very nice screen shot poop. I bet that was a white bass catching frenzy! Bo: Thanks for the report, good job figuring them out for location and presentation.
  14. I am familiar with the certification for younger boat drivers, it is required in Arkansas as well. Most of what I see is people above the required age group for certification. They just don't care to exercise common courtesy and safety in how close and the speed at which they drive by. It seems to be the same whether on the main lake, in a creek or large pocket. Most of this is just rude I own the water attitude and don't give a s*** about anyone but me.
  15. I was out fishing in the KC area Monday morning. The big boat traffic was off the chart busy. Found a decent number of deep fish on a main lake runout in 50 FOW. Just starting to get them going and in about an hour just couldn't stay on them and fish properly with the waves. Several battle ships passed between us and the bank within casting distance. I think we need mandatory boat driver water safety certification or something! Nice report and pics alltel. We caught them with the little rig shallow, swim baits, spoons and grubs deep.
  16. Very rare indeed. Just stumbled upon a location that had a good concentration of fish, with very favorable weather conditions. A small pocket with two points on either end. There were also three of us in the boat.
  17. You are correct Sir. My brother in law caught a 24" Eye on the PBJ Ned last Saturday afternoon and followed it up with a 18" smallie just a few yards down a gravel bank. In a couple hours fishing the Joe Bald area, we had 12 to include LM, SM & K's with about half being keepers.
  18. That is the way to Hang in there Quill. I am a Ford truck man and darn proud of it! Very nice outing Jtram. It has just been the year of the NED RIG, I think mainly because more are throwing the little rig and are catching good numbers. I caught some good fish on the grubin the early spring, but those fish were glued to the bottom looking up out to 20'. Had to get it on the bottom and reel very slowly to be effective. I haven't tossed it much lately.
  19. Yes, or a wacky rigged stick worm.
  20. I remember the fishing show Timmy did on Lake Seminole where he was smoking the big girls on a 5" stick worm with the MJ Rig. Didn't look all that practical for Table Rock, since we don't have any grass to fish.
