Members plexlove Posted August 12, 2013 Members Posted August 12, 2013 Hi,me and my friend are looking to find someone with a boat who would want to go out at night and catfish. We live around the springfield area and have came up to truman and lake of the ozarks 6 times in the last 2 months and havnt caught anything really worth keeping and its getting frustrating. This month alone i have spent over 2 grand going up there and come home empty handed but everyone i see on boats has plenty of blues! I cant even net any shad from the shore lol. So if anyone wants some company, we are laid back guys just wanting to catch some fish. I am 31 my buddy is 24 and we would love to come out sometime, just give me a date! Also if no one wants to take us out I would at least like to find someone who has some decent size FRESH caught shad (5" to 10") for sale and we could fish the bank, just dont have any luck with that frozen stuff from the bait shop! lol Thanks guys!
Members Wahoo61 Posted August 13, 2013 Members Posted August 13, 2013 Just a thought. For that kind of money you could have bought a used boat. If u went down to the dam on the main lake side you might be able to net them on the west corner by the gates. I don't catfish but if I was down and knew you were down I might try to net some shad for you. My number is in the 03 shad hybrids thread.
fishinwrench Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Yeah if you wanna catch blues consistently you're gonna have to get off the bank. About 2k will get you into a workable, easy to tow catfishing rig. Channel cat are a different story though, most times for them you're better off on the banks.
Members Goggleeye Bailie Posted January 11, 2015 Members Posted January 11, 2015 I am no expert on Truman Lake. One thing I have figured out is that if you want fishing, be it crappie, whites, or blues, contact Richard Bowling. He runs a guide service and knows the lake as good as anyone.
Crappie5 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I agree contact Richard Bowling or Jeff Faulkenberry guide services. They are 2 of the best guides you will ever fish with on Truman Lake. crappie or blue cats are both of their specialties.
Aggressor1988long Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 My boats for sell ill take 1,800 its on buy and sell. Im in no hurry to sell it. Ive got shad so let me know ill give you some. I just go out to McDaniel lake off the bridge with a cleo and hook them.
jbooth24 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 That's one thing McDaniel lake does have is lots of shad and some big bass
