Fishin Hodge Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Yes sir there is a courtesty dock at Moonshine Beach. Also, when it comes time to weigh in I am very aware that Moonshine Beach has a lack of good places to beach a boat. Trailering your boat at Moonshine Beach will be allowed to weigh-in. On the rule concerning trailering your boat, we are really just concerned with folks trying to trailer their boat to or from another fishing location. Say fishing at Cape Fair and then trailering your boat back to Moonshine Beach to weigh in. That would be unacceptable. Also, the late fee has been waived. There will be no late fee collection, only tournament entry fee of $50. Pass this word along.
jolicious Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I like loading the boat then bringing fish to the scales. Great decision!! Our bags, or use your bags (I'm trying to think positive!!)?
Fishin Hodge Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 We will have some bags available, but you can use your own bags. I am going to ask that people be mindful of the size of the line at the tanks. I have two stock tanks lined up, but if the weighin line is exceedingly long, I do ask that we try to work together to keep our fish alive. If you have to sit with the fish in your livewell for just a little extra time to let the line subside I ask that you do that. As we figure out the exact size of the event we will see how much of a role this will play.
jolicious Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Great job to everyone involved with the tournament! What a great time! My new favorite fishing buddy (Miss April - one of the Olympians) told me that I have to come back next year so I'll need an email!!
Fishin Hodge Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 What a day. We had 27 boats but we'll grow. Nobody walked away empty handed. I'll post a list of prizes and full results soon. 1st place - Roger Hackman and James Hensley - 13.14 pounds - $400 Payout from entry fees was 74% instead of the advertised 50%, and we had the best prizes of any tournament I've ever been a part of; will post the exacts very soon. I had the chance to fish with two Olympians and one had their personal beat day, with 10 fish. It was my pleasure to get to do that. If you didn't fish, it was truly your loss. Hope to see you next year,
jolicious Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I'm setting the over/under at 100 next year. I know 10 boats that will fish it next year now that the know to be on the look out!
