Any suggestions on campgrounds for "tents' on the lake?

And, if I use my float tube near the dam, would I be a candidate for being swamped out is that a no-wake zone?

There is a state park campground very close to the dam. It's up at Table Rock level, but a short trip down to Taney. Can't help you with the float tube regs. Seems that it would work when they aren't running tons of water (assuming it's legal). I think they are running too much for that right now.

I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

I don't know if Cooper Creek does tent camping. They used to.

I checked and Cooper Creek doesn't do tents and they referred me to the Table Rock Campground.

I'm also waiting on a response from MoParks about using a tube or toon at either of the lakes.

If you want the lower end then there are campgrounds at Forsyth just below the Powersite Dam.

I used a tent at coopers last year but they charged me the same price as if I had a camper.

Same price?! That stunk. Paid $16 for the campsite at meramec springs but the additional $8 charge for a reservation beefed it up to $24.

At least I got a site next to the water....

I don't know of any rules concerning float tubes. Safety would be the biggest concern and I wouldn't want to be too close to the dam. If you don't mind a little drive, the area around the old Coombs Ferry access gives you lots of small coves and a good flat to fish.

Thanks for your concern Wayne. That's something I will definately have to keep an eye on!

Actually the whole shoreline from the dam to Bear creek doesn't offer much protection from traveling bass boats. Not that it would prevent you from fishing, but yeah, staying close to the shore line would be prudent.
