E Green Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 I appreciate art very much and would love to chek out that museum in Bentonville. Maybe I can plan several other stops along the way to make that drive more productive. I will see if I can find a small stream to do a little wade fishing for a couple hours in the morning then possibly hit a park for a short hike and try and get some nature pics. Maybe there is a good lunch spot I will pass going to or coming back from Bentonville. We are leaving for Branson on sat and staying at a golf resort (this is a trip for my in laws really, I don't golf myself and would much rather get a cabin off the beaten path for what that is worth...your mileage may vary....)anyways...place is called Point Royal I think. It looks like it is on Taneycomo, not table rock. I guess that changes my fishing aspirations and methods..haha regardless...can't wait for this trip! Maybe now I will catch my first trout! I am sure I will come back and post way too many pics in my ozarks images thread...haha have a great holiday weekend everyone...stay safe and tight lines! GO BUCEYES again, thanks for all the rec's...i plan on doing everything you guys said...
Mitch f Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 No worries, Taney is much easier to fish. Especially for the family. Why do you think most of the Table Rock guides take their clients to Taney in the summer? Good Luck and have a pleasant vacation!! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Members Brock P Posted August 29, 2013 Members Posted August 29, 2013 Staying at Point Royale there is a great access point you can use to get to Taney. We've stayed there before and it has easy access to wade fish that section (just remember you are in the slot zone so check out the regs for lure restrictions and if you plan to keep what you catch). Another option for you is to put in there with your kayak and float downstream. It's a pretty nice float from there to Branson Landing if you don't mind a little paddling once you hit the slow water (around 6 1/2 miles). If the family wants to shop that works out nice since they can meet you at the boat ramp in the city park (just South of Branson Landing) to pick you up. Or you could make it a shorter float and have them pick you up at Cooper Creek CA. Another thing we do a lot with our kayaks is drop the shoppers of the family off at the landing and then put in and fish around there until we get the call they are ready to leave (best way there is to go shopping in my opinion). If you decide to go to Crystal Bridges, check out Roaring River State Park on the way there. Very scenic and has hiking trails and trout fishing too. Have a great time!
