We will have some elderly relatives from the Tetons visiting the week after Labor Day. We plan to take them to Taneycomo for a morning of fishing with a couple of guides.

I haven't ever fished below the dam and am concerned about the summer heat. How much cooler is it than a morning on TR this time of year?

Speaking from experience there is a fair temperature variation comparing Taney to TR for a couple of reasons...first the water is cooler and even more so if they are generating and if you are in the upper end the bluffs make a huge difference as to when the sun beats down. If there is a breeze it is even more comfortable.

If they are getting guides I am sure they will be on the water in the 6 a.m. range and off by 11ish - so it shouldn't be horrible, but always follow the drink water rule.
