Thinking about going on the river Labor Day. Wondering if anyone has heard of any good numbers of cats being caught.

Planning on trying a wide range of baits. Wanted to get a feeling on what might be currently working.

Thanks.

Been doing great right below the winfield dam. I know you said between the two but check out the cats and dogs part and I have a few pictures of right above the clarksville (First two) and the rest are right below the windfield. We don't go any farther than right below golden eagle ferry.

We go to small creeks and ditches with a throw net or an ultra light with some small hooks and worms and catch all of our bait. The big ones were caught on buffalos. The rest were using sunfish from the 3"-4" range. If you need some more information just shoot me a message.

Thanks for the reply. Those are some nice cats you have pictured.

Gonna try several diff baits: stink, worms, cut, live, and garlic/Kool Aid soaked hot dogs.

Will let ya know how we do. looks like the heat is gonna break, so it will be a nice day for some river cats.

I remember an old Outdoors in the Heartland t.v. show from a few years ago, where Larry Woodward was trolling white crank baits along the riprap banks and was catching the snot out of cats.

I've only caught a few cats trolling. Depends on if you want some big cats I would stay with live bait. Right at the Winfield dam access off 79 there is a bait shop (we call it the crack house) that sells goldfish we use for rod n reels. If you want to meet below Winfield I think we are heading out either sat or sun night.
