John W Kelly Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Wind, rain, and fog from 7:00 until 2:00...
Dylan Cluver Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Short outing tonight but did well on white streamers with a medium/slow retrieve we all had decent numbers No one gripes about obese fish.
Quillback Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Nice pic, looks like the fish should have been biting.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 2, 2013 Root Admin Posted September 2, 2013 and the fishing... ? Should have been very good.
Lancer09 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 It was pretty good last night as Well. Six of us were down there but the fog was tough. Couldn't hardly see three or four feet so it madequate finding good water tough. Three of the five were catching them on small jerkbaits, pine squirrel peaches were working as Well.
John W Kelly Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 The fishing started off slow for me. I was trying out some new flies that werent connecting. A guy next me caught several in the early morning near one of the outlets on a soft hackle. I ended up landing 6 on nymphs, broke tippet on 3 more, and had 8 or 10 on&offs (didnt get the hook set good enough). Suprisingly, I didnt see very many people catching fish.
Members Justin927 Posted September 3, 2013 Members Posted September 3, 2013 I fished Saturday and Sunday early mornings and the fishing was really good. I fished below the rebar hole just downstream from the tree/roots sticking out of the water. Fished a few hours and each morning from about 6:30-10:00 before it was too crowded and had 20+ fish each day. As some of you assumed fishing was great in the rain, more people were sitting under the pavilion than were fishing!. Midges were working the best for me. I caught a couple brown and was wondering if anyone else has noticed increased brown presence in the upper lake? I caught one last weekend and 2 this weekend, I also saw a 25+ inch hog, but he wanted nothing to do with what I was throwing at him. I believe, but may be wrong, that this would be a little early? I just was not sure if the cooler than normal temperatures had anything to do with this?
