Jdecoudres Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Just wondering why I do hear more about these. I hear good reviews online about them so just trying to find out more information on them as j have never used them. I guess I should mention that almost all of my fishing is with 6x for trout
fishinwrench Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Great for drys, swinging soft hackles, and stripping streamers just under the surface. And I use them exclusively for my warmwater FFing if I'm not throwing a sinking head. Not so great for nymphing if you want split shot above the tippet.
JCWolfe Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 They have no memory, no curls in them from being on the reel. Also you have to put floatant on them or they will sink. I think some are pre treated plus I got the one with the tippet ring on the end. I like them. To me they are more of a money saver because they should last a long time. Okiemountaineer
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 If you referring to the commercial ones, they work great, but cost too much if you use several rods and fish for many species. The hand furled leaders are cheap and work almost as well for me. I have to point out my experience is using one hybrid #8 mono and no experimenting beyond. Obviously using one line to build them makes them hard to fit 3 weights and 9 weights and be great. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
