Fished for about 7 hours on Friday out of Nemo. Would have been more but the trolling motor and electronics were giving me fits! Just could not figure out the crappie. Just a few shorts and no keepers.

Initially tried fishing brush piles anywhere from 5 feet out to 25 feet. Tried jigging and casting. Then tried slow trolling a jig near the bottom along the bluffs in 15 to 25 fow.

I just can't seem to figure this lake out. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Just one of those days...but still better than work!

Thanks for the reply Ranger520vx. I am glad someone figured them out! What part of the lake were you fishing? I didn't stray more than a mile from the Nemo launch. I mainly fished with a green/pink jig but also was casting a white jighead dressed with a yellow/chart twister tail.

I really didn't mark a thing above the brushpiles. Were you fishing the tops of the piles or dropping down in them?

I was fishin around the Wheatland area using shad colored tubes dropping them all the way to the bottom then bring them up real slow get hung up alot but that technique seems to work best for me. Also bite has been vert light .

This time of year until the water temps start to drop brush piles and standing timber, minnows or jigs, in 15-30 FOW. Pretty much an automatic limit of nice ones if you find the right pile or group of stumps.

Fished Friday & Saturday for crappie. Did very well both days. Fished the Lindley and Pomme arms - both are great. Find a group of trees and start fishing. They were biting jigs - blue, chart & pink were the colors I used. I don't think the color would matter all that much. The fastest way to put a limit in the boat is to fish brush piles, however you might have to fish 5 or 6 to find one that is loaded with fish, when you find the right one it will be fast and furious!

PM me you address and I'll send you a dozen crappie catching jigs!

Buddy and I went Saturday. Didnt get started till about 9:30 . We only managed 10 keepers and one nice 7.5 lb catfish. All were caught on brush piles mostly on minnows. Did catch lots of small crappie and bass too. We put in at Nemo and just fished that area of the lake. Planning on going on a family camping trip at Nemo this weekend. I am going to O D on crappie fishing day and night.
