Tied up a couple of damsel in distress a few days back. Took the Mrs. to a pond where we fished them. Big wind blowing from the south but the fish were stacked on the north side where the waves were hitting the bank, warmer water on that side plus I am sure the waves were stirring up food too. We caught a bunch. There was never a time when one of both of us were hooked up. Bluegill and bass. We really beat up the flys so I tied up more today. I also did some tweaking and instead of rabbit for tails and sides I used pine squirrel strips. Clear cure goo the backs too. Size #8

It's easy to overlook the damsels/dragonfly nymphs, but the are everywhere. That's a really nice one. I live 1/2 mile from Taney and they are in my yard all summer.

I have an old pattern somewhere for damsel adults that uses 100# dacron striped with a blue sharpie for the tail.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Lancer- I had a huge brown swipe at one of your streamers from last years streamer swap last trip. One of those heart stopping fish. If only you'd tied it a little bit better... maybe he would have eaten.

Edit: Joking- by the way- its a fantastic fly.
