marcusearlt Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 So does anybody know if the boat ramp is closed? I have been out of the loop for about a month so I am not up to speed on the news. I do however miraculously have the opportunity to wet a line this weekend and thought some trout might be nice. Thanks. Quillback Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Are you asking about Houseman? If so, it is an AGFC ramp and should be open.
marcusearlt Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 I was actually thinking of the ramp by the dam, but houseman will do just fine. With all these ramps closed I can't help but to think the fishing will be pretty good due to less pressure. Kind of an unintended result but it may have a positive effect on some waters.... sfiser Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 ramp at the darn is closed till the gov't opens back up. Bentrad ramp and housemans are both open
hoglaw Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Just don't run on plane through there. I was told (sternly) it was no wake from 62 to the dam.
marcusearlt Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 Well, I heard the same thing actually. I have never seen any signs though. I wonder why some places choose to do that. For example, Lake Elmdale is no wake. When those generators kick on the wake created from being on plane is really reduced by all the water flowing down stream. Plus it's really hard not to want to go everywhere on plane when your driving a jet boat, you know what I mean HOG.
