12 to 15 they need 2 more SEC wins to crack the top 10. Georgia was not the same as it had been prior to injuries so the pollsters will look at that. Yes its wrong 100% as they are unbeaten and should be placed with the other unbeaten first then strength of schedule second.

#14, in your range.

I agree with Al. We're gonna see how good the play calling is as their ability to call plays Mauk is capable of executing will be tested. May have to dumb it dumb down just a bit in the beginning. If so then the question becomes is our offense dominant enough to score with a more basic strategy? Another thing to remember is Mauk was a very good passing qb as well as quicker that Franklin. Maybe we'll be a more versatile offense, maybe. Look how we move the ball with the 10-15 yd passes. a buddy has a son at MU and he has watched Mauk throw very good in the mid-range passing at practices. i just don't think it's all doom and gloom yet.

Franklin is not out for the season. 3-5 weeks. Should be back for Ole Miss and Texas A&M without major setbacks. Maybe the game at Kentucky, though I hope we wouldn't need him there.

Will be interesting to see how he looks when (if) he comes back. There is always that possibility that there will be shades of 2012 when he played through an injury. Would not expect we see dynamic 2013 James Franklin again. But still, the experience would be vital trying to match points with Ole Miss and Texas A&M (plus he looks to be back for the SEC championship game should we reach that point and the bowl game.)

So, looks like we are not ready to say goodbye to Franklin. Fantastic news.

Mauk looked good to me.....threw some nice balls and got the team into the endzone twice!!! NOT BAD!!!!

The opposition will stunt a lot more than usual and how well Mauk and the line can pick up on it will be the key, IMO.

I am by no means throwing in the towel for this season with Franklin out for the next month. Mauk has the tools, but lacking the experience. He might actually be a better runner than Franklin is. Pinkel plans to change nothing on offense...so they have some confidence in Mauk. However, that throw to DGB was waaaay under thrown...nice job of DGB to make the adjustment.

I don't think we would have put up a ton of points against Florida with Franklin in anyway. Their defense is that good. IMO this game comes down to our defense. GA ran through us in the 3rd quarter before they were forced to throw again in the fourth and we didn't adjust well in the 3rd quarter. If we don't score on the halfback toss, followed by an Aaron Murray interception...I think GA continues to run at us and we have a different outcome.

If we can stop Florida from running the ball...we win an ugly one.

Mauk will need to make some plays with his legs and DGB needs to step up a bit.

I think we'll see a much more calm and collected Mauk this weekend. That was a pretty tough situation to get thrown into.

Our 3rd quater "D" was not real impressive. Can't be having a bad quarter of "D" these next 3 games.

Yep. Starting at home will be a different feel than being thrown in there at the key moment of the game on the road in front of 92,000. I can't imagine any tougher place to get suddenly thrown in, and he handled it fine. Give him a week to practice with the 1s and he might be just fine. Certainly no reason to give anything up yet. We have two home games that will decide our fate. Need to take at least one of the two though or divisional hopes are done. Though if we only get one of the two (or drop one to a weaker opponent) Texas A&M becomes an absolute must win to make it to Atlanta. But we can worry about that later especially w/Franklin the likely starter by then.

My Florida prediction......a low scoring battle with both defense stifling the opposing offense. Sure, their defense is better than ours, but their offense varies between okay and shield-your-eyes terrible. Missouri looks like the better team even without Franklin.

So I'll say our running game gets just enough to keep us in the game, and Mauk makes a play in the fourth quarter to close it out. 21-17 Mizzou. There will be mistakes, but I think he can do well enough to let the rest of our team carry him along. But we'll find out and obviously a loss wouldn't be surprising. Whether E.J. Gaines can go could be big too. Obviously I don't look for their passing game to be as dangerous as Georgia's (or even Vandy's) but being without your best corner in what looks like a close game would be tough.

Maty's been waiting for this oppurtunity and I believe he'll grasp it. I'm not worried about Florida or South Carolina in our house. When we play Carolina I'd run straight at Clowney and take away his strength as a pass rusher. That's what teams used to do to Derrick Thomas.
