Went out Friday night hoping to fill a couple freezer bags with fillets before duck season starts up. Fished with crappie minnows, started in 35 FOW and moved to 20 FOW as the night progressed. Caught the most fish from 25-20 FOW around pole timber. Ended around 11pm with 6 walleye (no keepers), 2 cats, 7 whites and NO CRAPPIE! Not a bad evening and still ended with some fillets but none of the treasured sacalait.

No pics? UGH! Tease. ;-)

Glad to see you on the forum. Wondered if you were still chasing the crappie or too busy tootin' on duck calls. LOL

Crappie bite will turn on in the middle of duck season I'm sure. (haha) Should be in Nov the bite will be pretty strong I hear.

I get on occasionally just to see who's catching what, if you start stacking some slabs with your trolling set up I'll be waiting for a call. I'll trade some fresh duck breasts for another trip on the Cane Cutter.

I'm not much in duck (I know.....that hurts) lol. Thanks though. :)

Hey, you're welcome anytime on my boat. Heck I have it running great now. I hear crappie will stack up shallow between now and Christmas. Maybe we can get on them with some jigs or minnows. I'd love another school lesson on how to get my butt kicked in catching crappie. Lol
