Sounds like they are moving back up. was he fishing flats or in the river for the cats. we were catching a bunch around aldrich about a month ago drifting but i figured the colder nights pushed them out. last i heard crappie were still on piles and trees and I've found them anywhere from 15fow to 40fow

Damp was the least of our problems. I dont own my own boat, so I go fishing when my buddys can, and depend on thier boats reliability. I will make a LONG story short...Sheer pin broke on prop, had extra, replaced it....carburator got water in it, motor wouldn't start (happened at the first bridge up the river from CC) Used trolling motor to start heading back...while working on the motor. Trolling motor batter died just when we got the motor started. Ran out of gas 3/4 mile from launch...batter recooperated slightly, wind worked in our favor...was on water for 4 hours, fished for 20 minutes, caught an achey back.

Grand Scheme of things - I feel like a bad a$$ since it was raining the whole time and toughed it out. Got an awesome story I can tell with some embelishment, and it will only get better the farther that memory gets from the day it actually happened :-)

Cant win them all!

Bitethis i expect an action packed report today lol. my guess is it was a little damp up there yesterday

Bite, is right! I have been on a spring pattern since the end of Sept. catching 3 to 5 pounders in my spring areas. Flippin willows in 2ft of water. This fall has been completely different than usual. I guess the water levels has been the cause. Flipping shalow wood has been the trick for me. The main difference from the spring has been ignore the buck brush. They are not in it. Look for bigger wood. It you find live willow trees in the water flip them. I am sure with the dropping water temps they will move out soon. Get back to more normal patterns
