Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 20, 2013 Root Admin Posted October 20, 2013 Wow- hopefully we'll see the pic. That's only 3 pounds off a state record. I assume he released it since he had a pic and not the fish itself. It's hard to catch and release a trout that big right now with the 02 so low.
Members NoJagel Posted October 20, 2013 Members Posted October 20, 2013 I assume he released it since he wasn't showing the actual fish to people. He said 15 but that could be a stretch, regardless it was the biggest trout I have seen caught out of there so far this year. Hopefully it made its way back into the lake safely and healthy.
John W Kelly Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 While I was up in the woods standing behind a tree (no bathrooms on the south side ), I could see a group of guys start gathering around another guy who was landing a fish. It was just below outlet 2. Figured he caught a biggie. A pic from the afternoon:
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 20, 2013 Root Admin Posted October 20, 2013 You picked a good spot... away from the crowd. There's great fishing over there when the water is down.
John W Kelly Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 I like that side. Unfortunately, about as soon as I got over there the horn sounded. When the water is up, it's difficult to navigate the bank, and you gotta watch your backcast a lot, but its a good challenge and there are some good spots to fish...if you know where they are (). There's always bugs coming off the water over there too. I got a good pic of one that I'll post a little later.
