Quillback Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I don't know why they keep playing Drew, he's in a terrible slump. Put Bogaerts at SS and Middlebrooks at 3B.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 28, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted October 28, 2013 Fitting end of the game tonight... after last night. Cards just don't seem to be aggressive at the plate at all. They look at too many pitches. Freese looks totally lost. Even when they win they don't look confident. Cards still look good to win the series with their pitching BUT they have to bat. I have my doubts. Anyone else think the strike zone was the twilight zone tonight? Strikes are balls and balls are strikes.
stlfisher Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Yep, lots of wide strikes called tonight. We just are not hitting. John jay failing to drive the run in the eight, swinging at ball four the previous at bat. Freese has really been stuggling...all year. Gonna have to win it in fenway which makes me nervous.
Justin Spencer Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 It's been a fun series but the play has been horrible. Defensive errors, baserunning errors, lazy play on both sides. Doesn't seem to have the intensity of some of the series I remember in the past. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 28, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted October 28, 2013 I don't know what it is but there's something amiss. Both teams entered the series relaxed but now they're so intense and afraid of making an error they're not performing.
snap Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I was at the game last nite......5 rows behind Holiday (and gomes) FLAT all the way around!!! no defensive gems......not many balls hit hard.....not the best angle, but strikes looked like balls and balls turned out to be strikes that didn't seem to be....but, GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!! birds need to start hitting and stop pitching to and/or walking Ortiz.........I say, save pitch count and plunk him in the back, or ribs!!!!
Quillback Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Dang Snap, you had some good seats, I am jealous.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 29, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted October 29, 2013 Their lack of hitting has finally caught up with them.
