Members CartneyAccess Posted November 1, 2013 Members Posted November 1, 2013 I have a supreme L48 with a 20hp Merc 4 Stroke. And it seems to have way to much prop. Has anyone put a tach on there motor and propped there boat correctly. I know most people just use the stock prop but im use to big motors where the correct prop is essential. Its driving me crazy thinking this motor is not turning the proper rpm's
fishinwrench Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Few questions.... With the motor level, how far below the hull is the cavitation plate ? At mid-range throttle does the steering torque feel balanced or does it tend to pull a bit harder to one side? Can you see a scum line around the boat to indicate how it is drifting loaded, or have you washed it since the last time out?

I'm just curious as to how many rpm's it's turning sounds less than 5k
