stuartsx5 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It was a great day to be on the lake. Overcast with a little wind just before a cold front. Thought it would be a little better but it wasn't terrible. Took a friend of mine from church that had never been white bass fishing before. We ended the day with 16 nice white bass and 2 crappie. He had a blast. One was a really nice hybrid. Whether or not you like to eat them they are a blast to catch. The crappie were pretty good. One about 11 and one between 12 and 13. I will try to post some pics later. Didn't catch anything on the points even though it looked like it should be good out there. Caught em all from about half way back of the coves to the back. Put in at Roach and fished mainly across the lake from Windermere. It's gonna get good before too long. Happy Fishin. Earl Stuart fishin is livin

fishinwrench Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Right on! I found a good mess today too. Brought 18 to hand on the fly, kept the best 10 for the freezer. That wind got plum wicked right before dark, didn't it? Whew!
stuartsx5 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 I know the feeling crittermo. I am more of a fisher than a hunter so I only rifle hunt. I think the best is yet to come. The water was 57 degrees and I think it is a little better closer to 50. I may go again on Thursday. Fishinwrench, I bet those were a lot of fun on a fly rod. The wind was a little weird for me. Seemed like it would blow for a while then be dead calm. We were off the lake by 3:30 so we beat the bad stuff. Drove home in the rain tho. Earl Stuart fishin is livin

My favorite fly rod target by far, and if they'd just "get air" I'd never fish for anything else Consider yourself lucky for getting off the water before that gale started. I was on a wide open shallow flat (55° water) and it went from a manageable breeze to 3 foot rollers in a matter of 5 minutes.
MOsmallies Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Nice mess both of you... Thanks for the pics!
