The MDC description says there are "Lots of 12 or less bass available for harvest".

If you go, let me know if you hear any quail whistling.

Long time ago, used to catch a lot of bass, 13-14 inchers on small crankbaits. It was mainly early and late in the middle of summer. Used to be a lot of moss and would throw the cranks around the perimeter of the moss pockets. I do remember catching one over 5 lb on a spinnerbait right at dark. The only crappie I remember, was a friend of mine caught a very big crappie on a spinnerbait. It's been 20 plus years since I've been there. I might be wrong but at that time it was electric motors only and I think they had some boats there you could use. I think now, there's no boats available and you can have up to a 10 hp or run your big motor at idle speed.

I visited that conservation area a few days ago on the way back from visiting Lake of the Ozarks. With the area description mentioning lots of small bass I thought for sure I'd be catching some fish, but this time out I didn't even get a bite. Not from bass, not from catfish. It's a nice area but there is a lot of vegetation in the lake still, just like you guys remember. That made it tough to fish from the bank. Next time I'm planning on taking my kayak down there and fishing from it instead.

It is a nice conservation area though.

Good luck to anyone trying it.
