WHARFRAT Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Bite wasn't bad. Not great, but it was really nice out today. I kept five over 10". Caught a decent amount between 9 & 10. Fish were about 6-8' down. No black crappie, all whites. @lozcrappie
Goggle-Eyed Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Hey Wharfrat, I assume you were on the Niangua Arm... Were you up or down from Bridal Cave? I might be going tomorrow and deciding whether to stay on this end of the lake (Cedar Heights) or head over to Linn Creek area... Thanks, Joe
WHARFRAT Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 I'm actually at cedar glen, I fished up by bridal cave, a little disappointing compared with a couple of weeks ago. Fished it hard this afternoon, not much luck. Most of my fish came between the 11 & 12 mm, on main lake docks. Early it was blue/ chartuese, later in the day it was electric chicken with a pink 16 oz head. Got to really watch you line, I couldn't even feel the bite. @lozcrappie
stuartsx5 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Thanks for the report. I wanted to get out this past week. Had plans to go three days but I tweaked my back working on my daughter's car last week. Spent my five days off in the recliner and was rewarded with an MRI this morning. Maybe I will get out next week. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
WHARFRAT Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 All work no play makes stuartsx5 a dull boy. Now look where it got you. But then again, most of Nov I've been helping my daughter and her family move to Columbia. So ya gotta do what ya gotta do. @lozcrappie
WHARFRAT Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 I really thought today would be on fire, but it was kind of tough. Caught only a few all day, the biggest was 9.5", maybe a half dozen at 9", until 4:40 pm, shot way under a dock and hooked a nice 13+" white crappie. Not much else. @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 That river has always been a blessing to that arm of the lake. Your good fishing will go on all winter long. I do not know whats going on here in the gravois but it certainly is not good. The water quality is getting better every year due to the sewer program. Seems like the fishing gets worse.
laker67 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 That is a really nice black crappie WF. fishing is about the same 8 miles down. Spotty to say the least. I have spent all of this week just to catch a single days limit of fish. shad seem to be staying in deeper water. If you watch the seagulls, they seldom leave the channel. Usually by this time of year, I have caught crappie and white bass by the limits. Little to no white bass activity this fall, at least in my area of the big N.
Goggle-Eyed Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Well as soon as this fog lifts off I am headed out. After these reports, I think I might just head straight to Linn Creek area and see if anything is going on there. I will post up this evening if I find anything. Joe
WHARFRAT Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 Your right, it is a black crappie, i had been catching white crappie all week. That was the largest of the last 4 days. We caught only one other about 11", all the others were under 10". Yesterday the bite was a bit more aggressive. @lozcrappie
