timsfly Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 500 rainbows and 20 lunker rainbows, scattered from right below the park to Curry Bridge, so that is about 3 miles of water, I went down this morning and caught one of the lunkers it was about 5 lbs, and most were 3-4 pound trout, and the 500 stockers were of 12-15 inches. Started to spit sleet and ice, so I left, but there should be a few down thru there for awhile, till the bait fisherman find out and get in there and catch most of them, it happens all the time. Eagles will eat some Otters will eat some Remember browns still have to be 15" or longer to keep, but who would eat an old nasty brown, I heard they taste like an old sock Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

timsfly Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Curry bridge is about a mile lower than the prior crossing. The MDC doesn't stock on the Prior property any longer, because he kept throwing a fit about people fishing on his land, and he is an ......... Big Brown Trout Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 hey Tim I have a hard time following all the C &R stuff down there. is zone 3 catch and release this time of year or catch and keep? or is it just the area down below the park? or is the area below the park still zone 3? everything past that dam confuses me. Let the summer of Carp, begin.
timsfly Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 zone 3 is off limits from nov 1st-to the end of febuary, catch and keep march 1st-oct 31st from the bridge (below the dam) is closed till the end of feb. this area is over a mile long, great fishing sometimes, but during the winter season it is closed, the parking area on F hwy is the place to start(conservation parking lot) walk to the water, straight down the hill, and follow the river downstream, don't go upstream or you'll be in the park, and breaking the law I've never done that of course but if you did it might be good fishing, but the 200$ fine stops most people from trying, most people Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
laker67 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I heard they installed trail cams upstream from the access.
timsfly Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 They have 6 cameras total, they move them around. And parking lot cameras to check the plates of violators Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Big Brown Trout Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 okay thanks Tim I really appreciate the info, one more question though. What is the reason to make that section of the river off limits? also I had a question not relating to this I sent It to you in a PM though. Let the summer of Carp, begin.
timsfly Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 I don't know why, but it has been closed in the winter as far back as I can remember Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
