Don't miss out on this one guys. I just noticed on Fayetteville craigslist, under sporting there was an add posted this morning for an original Wiggle Wart. The seller knows it is worth at least a $100 according to local rumor.

He is taking bids, so this may be the chance you have been waiting for to own an original.

I can't wait to get my bid in. :secret-laugh:

I bet Larry is the owner on Craigslist. Lol!

Originals are available for $20ish on avg.

Don't be saying that...I got maybe a dozen left and it makes me cringe every time I tie one on. I really cringe when I bump bottom with one.

There is a guy that has a small tackle shop on 264 highway towards Hickory that buys and resells them. I think he was asking maybe $12 to $15 range, but this has been a couple of years ago.

Keeper size is 10'' legal. I try not to keep anything under 12'' and there are many in the 14 to 16'' range my best last year was 19'' but have caught 20'' fish.

As to where they are its a lot of trolling time. I try to locate at least 5 spots in a 1 mile run and then continually troll over them using flicker shad. The high speed method gets the active biters and typically the bigger fish, there is also that neat little bad habit of walleye to like hanging out with them so the bonus fish is always possible. The negative is the small Kentucks like hanging out in the same area.

The best crappie zone is from 12 bridge to Hickory Creek yes its a lot of area to look in but that is why I troll for them. The further up river you get the more likely you will run in to whites, hybrids and stripers also.

I caught a pretty good Walleye yesterday on Alabama Rig. Took his picture, told him "Stay away from Jason and Scott if you know what's good for ya" and turned him loose :-)

Off topic. My Lowrance 520C on the console has been shutting down sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes it will stay on for an hour. Like to find something on sale with the same features to replace it. Maybe somebody knows of a model being closed out? I have a near new Huminbird 898 with SI on the bow.

BassPro has the Lowrance Elite 5 base model on sale for $319 so I ordered one. I think it is near the same as my old 520C.

I mostly use my Humminbird 898 on the bow when fishing.

Glad you found a new unit. If it's the Elite dsi (structure scan) or the Elite 5 only (traditional sonar, no structure scan), yes its a comparable unit to your older one. Settings menu is a bit different and may take some getting used to.

If you need help when you get it, PM me. I've become pretty familiar with my Elite 5. You can do screenshots with that unit too which is pretty cool. Plus track-back so you can see sonar views that scrolled off the screen.
