Nick Williams Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Got an email from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation: Oklahoma State record Rainbow trout has been broken. 10 lbs. 10.56 ounces, 27 3/4" long. . No disrespect to Mark Reed who caught the fish fair and square, congrats, definitely a heck of a fish no matter where it is from . But from a Winter Trout fishery? Really? C'mon... The email does say they think they fish survived summer months long enough to grow to this size though. Guess we'll never know. And here's the story, though I can't seem to find it from an Oklahoma source yet. http://naturalgeographic.net/wp/record-trout-caught-in-oklahoma/ - Nick
Quillback Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 You'd think the hatchery people would know if they stocked a 10 lb. trout.
Nick Williams Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 You'd think the hatchery people would know if they stocked a 10 lb. trout. Right? If it really is a legitimate trout, then that is awesome. But if not, that's the lake I want to start fishing in if they will stock it like that. - Nick
