mhall02 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Any fish left in 21 or 28? Thinking about taking my son out after church tomorrow.
Justin92297 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I was at my neighborhood lake today which was frozen all winter and saw at least ten dead fish. Just like at your lake they were all trash fish. At mine they were some kind of big shad or chub. No other kinds of fish were affected and the crappie were biting great

We did end up going to 28, and yes there are still plenty of fish in there. Took home 3 apeice, little on the small side compared to prior years but plenty of excitement. Rainbow powerbait and olive and yellow jig did the trick.
Haris122 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I went to lake 35 yesterday, after walking around Prairie, Fire, and one other lake on Weldon Springs CA, to see what those are like. Caught a couple small Bass on a spoon and a small minnow type crankbait, all near the same cluster of brush/pallet piles. Don't think a single one was even 10" but it was fun catching something nonetheless.Had another 2 rods that I put catfish stinkbait, some carp dough bait, and eventually even worms on, and those didn't come through for me. As far as the Weldon Springs lakes, Prairie and Fire lake look promising. Especially fire lake, with all the stumps and other cover. I wonder if they stock them as much as the Bush CA lakes.
