Mitch f Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Bought a new Lews off of EBay for $79 I think. Was still in the honeymoon phase with the reel. Fantastic braking and drag system, ability to cast a small jig a country mile, and overall smooth casting reel. Last week, rIght in the middle of reeling back my jig, the reel just flat out locked up. Couldn't budge the crank handle one bit. It's toast! Anyone ever had this or is it just a fluke? moguy1973 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Is it repairable at least? I would contact Lew's. They have pretty good customer service from what I've heard. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

MOsmallies Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Glad it's fixable. That was very strange for it to lock up like that but the culprit you found makes sense.
