State Park Or Mutton?

Fished out of Mutton a couple times last week. There were lots of hefty whites in 20-35 feet just inside the tip of the land point that divides Googer, south side. There were hardly any crappies/walleyes with them, unfortunately. I don't fish for whites...was just having some fun while the wind raged on the main lake.

I found a few crappie today in 36 fow but not many so I went walleye fishing. My pard and I had 2 limits of keepers fishing plastics and spoons down to 50'. Saw enough shad in the mouth of Hawker to fill a gymnasium. Fished them for 30 min and only caught one white. No there bites around them.

Went out today. Picked up a few keeper crappie in brush in 25 fow. Had to get jig right in pile. Must have lost a dozen jigs. Such is the nature of the beast. Didn't jig any spoons, but after reading the wonderful article in fall walleye thread here on stockton forum I can't wait to get a jigging spoon out on stockton....as soon as I get my electronics fixed!

They have to eat. If you get a spoon close to them they are apt to take it no matter what month it is. I've caught a lot of January fish jigging spoons. I use several colors but silver has been good as well as white lately. Some hooks tipped with feathers and some not. It didn't seem to matter much.
