gotmuddy Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I am heading for the coast in the middle of feb to do some salty fishing. I will have room for three in my boat( myself and two others) if anyone wants to go along. last time I went the fishing was great. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Geoff Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Yes but I have no money or vacation to go anywhere "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."

Pepe Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I have heard some great things about that inshore fishing on bass gear. Is February prime time? That is on my bucket list and we intend to get down there to try it one of these years. We already committed to a week in Mexico in February however. We are going to give Falcon lake another try in a couple weeks. We never got a fish over 8 lbs last year. Hoping for a double digit Mama.
kjackson Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Where are you headed? I'm past due for some inshore stuff...
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Man, that would be fun, but might be to warm to go fishing.... There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Members RichMack Posted January 3, 2014 Members Posted January 3, 2014 My fishing buddy, BilletHead and I are thinking of red fish about the middle of Feb. Where are you going? When? Let us know what your plans are, possibly we can get together. We do part fly fishing and have boat, thinking Louisiana, fish camp.
Goggle-Eyed Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Let me know where you are planning on going. I will most likely be somewhere on the coast of LA or TX "working" between 2/11 and 2/23. I will most likely be on the Texas side of things but could possibly meet you anywhere up to about NOLA for a day or two. Joe
gotmuddy Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 I forgot about this thread, lol. The area I will be fishing is near the mouth of the san bernard river which is just west of freeport. This area is a unknown gem along the texas coast. The fishing is great, it seems the worse the weather the better it is. Last year I fished sat-monday the week of new years. Friday night a front came through, saturday north winds pushed water out of all the bays. I caught 8 keepers(limit is 3 per person), sunday I caught 8 keepers, and monday morning I fished for about two hours and caught 6 keepers. Biggest was 27 1/2". Do some googling. mic-I calculated fuel around $275. Our turbo diesel liberty gets around 19mpg towing a boat. The room was $50 or so. The wife informed me that we arent sharing a room with anyone lol. 4-5 people can stay in a room. I am either taking a 16x48 jon boat converted to a bass boat or I am talking my riverboat. both would fish great down there. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
