I have been to table rock only once but will be back down there in march. Are jerkbaits the lure of choice and if so what depth do they usually work at? Megabass vs lucky craft and colors would be helpful as well as GPS coordinates. Lol just kidding of course, but I am beginner for sure and any advice would be helpful

In March jerk baits will still be in play for sure. Missouri in March you never know what you are going to get. Fished in March when it is 71 and sunny with a nice breeze and have also fished with the wind was howling at 30mph, spitting rain and 34 degrees. As a rule of thumb on the Rock I think most guys would have these rods on the deck:

1 - Grub on a jig/darter head

2- Jig

3 - Jerk bait

4 - Wiggle Wart

5 - A-Rig

I am sure more help will be a long to add to the list but if it was March this is what I personally would have on the boat deck.

Buzzbaitr,

Yes indeed, jerk baits are generally high on the list in March. So are Wiggle Warts, provided the water temp is beginning to climb.

I throw a number of jerk baits, but my go-to pick if I had only one would be the original SPRO McStick 110 in the blue bandit color. In Megabass, I like the Secret Grape and GP Pro Blue II colors.

If the water temp has warmed to around 50, don't be afraid to go up the river arms and slow-roll a half-ounce War Eagle spinnerbait on points and secondary points leading into spawning pockets. Depending on water clarity, I'd throw either a lavender shad with nickel-and-gold willows (clearer water) or a solid white with double gold willows (stained water).
