Members mojonesy Posted December 30, 2013 Members Posted December 30, 2013 I am new to fly fishing and currently without waders, wondering if there is any bank fishing available in the tailwater area near the hatchery? Thanks
Jack Jones Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yes, there absolutely is when they are running water. I went more than one season before buying waders and was able to fish just fine. If you have hunting type boots that may help a little so you can get ankle deep to retreive the fish, but otherwise you should be okay. On the downside, casting can be a pain due to overhanging trees. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 31, 2013 Root Admin Posted December 31, 2013 You might look back at some topics, probably some fairly recent, that address bank fishing on Taneycomo.
John W Kelly Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I would guess (?) that if you came to the New Years Day get-together tomorrow at the pavilion, someone would be glad to point out some areas to fish from and how to do it.

Members mojonesy Posted January 2, 2014 Author Members Posted January 2, 2014 I did see that invite in time to make it, however I already had plans for the day. I am sure I could have learned much from the attendees. I appreciate the info from everyone. I will be out there soon.
