WHARFRAT Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 With the temps coming in, looks like we can put on our blades for a while. We have quite a few ice eaters around our docks, hope they do their job. Sure hope this doesn't last long. Ready for above avg temps. I always remember my grandpa saying, we need a good long cold spell, it'll kill off the ticks and Mosquitos for next summer. Personally, I've never noticed any difference. But that's what I tell my kids and grand kids. Stay warm everybody! @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Ice eaters are fine but the damage comes when you have strong wind and thecice breaks up. Massive sheets will start blowing and can rip a dock off its moorings. May not be a problem where you are at. Here I have no ice. And with the forecast wind we the water cannot freeze very easy.
Bushbeater Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Pulled my boat off the lift the day of the snow storm. Preparing for the dropping lake level. I can't use the lift at winter pool. Had to blast the ice out of the way with the big motor. I'm at 15 MM on Big Niangua, hope to meet you guys on the water sometime.
Members freelancer 11 Posted January 23, 2014 Members Posted January 23, 2014 Can anybody tell me if PB#2 is frozen over? suppose to fish BWSTA this weekend and haven't heard if that is going to happen with the temps and frozen lake conditions. Don't mind the temps just don't want the frozen ramps.
