After deer season I dislocated my shoulder and had to go under the knife. Looks like another week or so B4 I will be able to cast. I have not been off the water this long in many years! Let me know if you have any luck this weekend. I will be up at the camper looking on from shore.

Ouch, I blew out my shoulder last fall. The Doc gave me a cortisone shot and sent me on my way. What I have the biggest problem with is trolling. I steer with the busted wing, and it's hard to do with only 60% range of motion!

BUT,,,, we had an exceptional fall trolling for walleye. You'll figure it out!

Makes the pain go away! As does just heading out to your favorite spot!

Just be real careful with it but keep exercising it a lot. I have had trouble with both. Its not really healed if your having only 60 percent of the motion. It can happen again real easy. You can do a lot by exercising it.

Thanks for the tips. I went up last Sunday and ran around the lake a bit before the wind went crazy. Most of the coves were iced over. I am not sure I had ever seen that much ice on Stockton? I am sure it is on its way out.

So where is your camper this time of year that you can look at the lake?

9lb, I feel your pain!!! I tore a rotator cuff summer of 2012 and had it repaired Dec 2012. It was slow to heal and get back out fishing. I still have some pain but am able to do most things now. Key is to do the physical therapy and rehab. I think my problem with it was just my advanced age.

I have torn both. Left shoulder I tried to fish thru it last summer. I do not advise trying that. Did additional damage and it cannot really be fixed. Had surgery for cancer that kind of made me set awhile. Went go the bone guy and he gave me a shot that took the pain away for a few weeks. I started moving the shoulder some and after got my motion back with the help of the shot. I started moving the arm with a 8 oz water bottle in my hand. By this time the shot was gone and it got pretty painful to do. But I have worked out a awful lot of pain in it now. I am also working the shoulder with a 2 and 3 lb dumb bell now. Went to the bone doctor last week and he said he was flabbergasted for the third time ( the other shoulder and dual knee replacement) since since I have been his patient. He said he was going to refer his patient to me and not rehab. He was joking. It is going to hurt for a long time my way before it stops. I think it is taking a chance the way I do it some people might suffer a setback from it.

I think that I suffered a small tear back in 1988 or 89. Have had some pain off and on in the shoulder since then, but got much worse in the summer of 2012. Could still fish but pain caused me to start cutting my fishing time down!! MRI confirmed the tear. I was late getting into PT after surgery. Took 6 weeks before starting PT and had begun to develop a frozen shoulder. Was slow to get my range of motion back. Strange thing is that it starts to hurt after about 4 hours of sleep. Don't have to set my clock to wake up anymore!!! Old Plug is right about doing the rehab!!!

Not a lot of reassuring feedback there fellas. I am starting fishing 2/14 if I have to do it with 1 arm. I seen a pro basser with no legs and 2 arm fishing, I should be able to di it recreationally. I can't see the Lake form the Camper I am at Southwinds but i cruised down to the boat ramps
