Gatorjet Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Sorry to hear of your misshap. But look on the bright side. At least you "landed" your trailer on the right boat ramp. Real men go propless!
hknfsh Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 That's the only good.thing about it Gator
Goggle-Eyed Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks for the info. I am going to need to pick one up for my River boat, I will look them up next week when I am in Springfield.
hknfsh Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Sure thing . Bet they got what you need.
Members BiteMeBaits Posted February 7, 2014 Members Posted February 7, 2014 I've been thinking about launching there because I work about a mile from there. I have a 18-8 Nitro z7 with a 150, is there enough room to launch a bass boat? I've dropped my old boat off before at a gravel ramp and it's definitely not fun.
duckydoty Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I see lots of big boats launched there. I launch a 18.5 tracker with a 175 with no problems. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
hknfsh Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 I hindsight I've figured out what may have happened. I've always launched at this ramp with someone (wife or dad ) holding a rope tied to my boat. This particular time though....my son.(his boat) is already sitting in the front to lower the trolling motor once clear of the trailer. I watched in the mirror til the boat started to float not realizing that the trailer was.going to go further down the ramp thus rolling off the end. Weird thing is...never felt or saw any indication that it had done so. Like I said....been launching here for 30 years and never had this happen...but...never had someone weighi!ng down the front end of the boat either. Lesson learned on this one ! Launch away.... you'll be fine.
Members BiteMeBaits Posted February 8, 2014 Members Posted February 8, 2014 Sweet! thanks for the info!
hknfsh Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 No sweat. Good luck and hope you catch a bunch !
Gatorjet Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I've launched the Gator down there a few times when the Cooper Creek ramp was iced up. Never had a problem, but now you got me skeered! Real men go propless!
