If I tied 'regular' Woolies anymore, I would have a Marabou tail and Polar Chenille body...that's it.

Wouldn't that make it an irregular wooly?

So the Sparkle Minnow is solid enough of a pattern by itself that it can have a spin - off that is considered "sub-standard"? Hilarious.

Well Yeah! When Coffey first introduced it a lot of guys were attempting to copy it with eztaz and marabou.....THAT is/was "sub-standard".....didn't work.

Where were YOU back in the day? I guess we hadn't invented you yet :)

I had an extra 30 seconds this morning so I thought I would introduce the "SS-Minnow" (the idiot tyer forgot the bead though....because he sucks). Obviously, in the water it would look and fish completely different than a Sparkle Minnow and fish are completely smart enough to tell the difference in the two patterns (mostly because I forgot the bead).

Did I lay the smartassery on thick enough, Wrench? :P

That thing looks kinda "limp". I dunno, it might fish :D

Seriously though, there really is something about spun "angel hair" or "Lite-bite". No chenilles or dubbing brushes that I have seen so far cause the fly to turn out right. Maybe "right" isn't the proper term.... "The Same".

And I'm just crazy picky that way :)

You can't tell me that if a Pat's looses a single rubber leg that you won't swap that bad boy out before you make another cast.

Actually, I have cut SO MANY antennae off of Pats when I cut my thread....still fish them. Drives me crazy right that second, but then I remember that fish can't count. :secret-laugh:
