crappiefisherman Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I think I saw you fighting the wind this late morning. are you casting towards bank or dragging in the wind?I wont tell were I saw you but it was up from where I expected [ [

duckydoty Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Yesterday I had cast parallel to the bank and into the wind, then use the trolling motor to ease into the wind and towards my jig in order to allow it to sink deep enough and still feel the bite. Wayne SW/MO Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Crappiefisherman you might try the slough at Empire park also. You could launch and use the electric and not have to fight the wind too much. I don't know any details other than they were catching some there right before the North Pole blew in. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members bluetick1897 Posted January 28, 2014 Members Posted January 28, 2014 I would think the crappie would hang around the bridge piers on the down current side, BUT this lake presents a whole different animal when comes to patterning crappie. There has to be a reason why they are where they are.....oohh wait that's all fishing is....duh! Next evolution in fishing sonar has to be fish drones. Military always comes up with the best ideas. HAHA The sad part about that joke is...IT WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME A BIT. I still love having to figure it out for myself. But I do appreciate you guys giving your first hand knowledge.
duckydoty Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 There is a wing dam, so to speak of, just above the area that people will wade out on and fish off of. The gulls will also sit on it. It breaks the current along that area. Might be why they are there? A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Gatorjet Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Will be down tomorrow. Hope they are still there, and hungry. I also caught one Saturday not in that area. Fishing in the Masters tournament, so I didn't really try for more. It was in an area not particularlly good for trout to me, but out of the wind. I caught one there last year as well. So we will be giving that area a good try as well as the Landing on Thursday. Real men go propless!
duckydoty Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Hope you get enough to have a nice fry gator. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
