Generation has been very light, which means the fog is about nonexistent. Parking has been crazy. The folks that own the field had an announcement made last weekend that of folks keep parking in the field and not putting the parking money in the mailbox that they'll stop allowing folks to park. Totally understand that thought

Wow, 50 boats - that lake feels crowded when there's 10.

No kidding! It's a shame that lake is getting so beat up by all these tourneys.

IMO it was a much better lake when there was only a dirt ramp that most people were afraid to use. I helped a friend replace an axle on his trailer at the old launch and if you didn't have a 4x4 you didn't even try it. I hated that old ramp when it was there now I want it back.

Just goes to show we are never happy.

Removing the catch and release only really helped the size of the bass but you just don't get those 75-100 fish a day days anymore.

With all these winter snow storms I don't think the pressure will be too bad this winter and come April you won't see 5 boats on the lake.

That place was a rodeo back when the dirt ramp was still there, nothing has changed.

50 boats is no big deal, those fish are used to the pressure.

Its the fisherman who cant handle all the pressure.

With that said, I've seen plenty of cussing matches at the boat ramp.

It gets pretty crazy over there.

Most of those guys are bank beaters or they stack up at the discharge.

I never fish the discharge for that reason.

There's a lot of good mainlake stuff that gets very little fishing pressure.

If you really know how to finesse fish, you can go right behind a group of boats and catch fish they miss.

I'm just not into the 50 boats thing, even if I can catch a sackful. I'd rather fish one of the big lakes where it's tougher in general, but where you can get away from the crowds. I guess I've reached that point in life where a good day on the water isn't necessarily based on the numbers of fish that I catch. That being said, I can fish Swepco during the week and only have to deal with a half dozen boats. And you're right, even though that lake gets pounded, you can still catch good numbers and quality.

Same here Quill. Numbers aren't as important to me as much as it is the experience of fishing that I enjoy. I also agree, if imbthe only one on the lake, it suits me just fine.

Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message.

He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

I'm willing to fight the idiot crowd just to get out of the house next weekend.

Nothing beats dragging a shaky down mainlake flats while everybody beats the banks.

I agree about solitude, but I want to catch something other than the flu.

If I want peace and quiet, I can go hiking.

Theres always trout fishing, I guess.

LOL, yeah I guess you can go hiking, but I like to find peace and quiet and catch fish.

Agreed, even if it is peace and quit and a small chance of catching a fish beats a crowd catching fish. Brings back memories of sitting in ice shanties on top of 16in of ice............
