Quillback Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Watching the news last night, they showed a picture of a guy on the front deck of his boat fishing near Prairie Creek, the guy had his back to the camera. Must have been an inch of snow on the front deck. Who was it? Fess' up, LOL.
J-Doc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 There was a local tournament of "nuts" yesterday. I do know one of them. Winner got over $900 for weighing a fish. Yes.......one 2.5lb fish won big bass and the whole fish net!!! I won't mention any forum members names but my friend JOE was one of them. Craziness. Pure craziness. Lol Glad they all made it home safe and no one was frozen or drowned. A blessing. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Members beaverfan Posted February 3, 2014 Members Posted February 3, 2014 It was a Winter Series Tournament, we fished it and gave up at noon. To say it was miserable, is an understatement. I couldn't feel my fingers or toes and no fish to get the blood flowing. As difficult as the fishing was, the real adventure was getting out of the PC parking lot and getting home. Oh my!! At one point yesterday, I looked down and the snow was drifting above the top of seats from the back deck. It was past time to leave by then.
J-Doc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 In your defense, I will say that the snow came in way faster than expected and obviously a lot more than was expected. I heard it was so thick that you couldn’t really run on plane much because it was so hard to see how to drive on the lake. I also heard about you guys stranded due to Hwy 12 closing down before you could get out of there. That was pretty rough and a bit on the scary side. No one wants to stay stuck in the parking lot overnight waiting for the roads to open so you can leave. My hats off to the guy who caught the one fish that won. Catching a fish in those conditions with water temps in the mid to upper 30’s is a very slow go. If the water temps had been warmer near 60 well…………..heck I might have been out there!! Feathers and Fins Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Not enough rods in the first picture https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
jolicious Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Not enough rods in the first picture Funny you should mention rods - Around 8:00am I snagged on something, kept the line tight, and pulled up 4 rods / reels that were tangled together.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I saw the picture, Last time I saw that many togeather I was Yellowfin fishing and had 5 back-up rods out for it. 275pnd yellowfin off Clarion Island, I was like what the heck is Joe doing. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
