Quillback Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Wondering if anyone that lives in the area knows if the coves are frozen over?
Feathers and Fins Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Quill, I was planning on looking today, I know before the storms that there was areas along the south shore that were iced and I am betting that by now it is iced over at least to the first set of docks and possibly further. If I can get there I will post pictures later. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Cool, thanks, eventually things will warm up around here and I'll need someplace to take the boat.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I tried but there are way to many idiots on the road to make it and I only live about 5 miles from it. Between my house and HLS I dam near got hit three times so I said screw it! Went to harps got groceries and came home. There will be plenty of fishing days I don't need to get in a wreck that bad. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah the road by my house is a sheet of ice. No way I'm pulling the boat on that stuff.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 It wasn't bad yesterday montne was open enough to play for a bit but also far fewer people use that road. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
jeb Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 No heavy ice in the area I normally launch, Jeff, FWIW. Some thin sheet ice along the shores, but not as heavy as I was expecting to see when I went to town today. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
J-Doc Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I wonder if Monte Ne is froze over towards the back. I'm thinking about venturing out just to get in the boat. Find me some new brush piles and mark them. That's about all I can do! LOL Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
