Flatbottom Boy Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks guys, Duane I might try to twist your arm one night and get you out of the house.
duckydoty Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Won't take much twisting. I'm not very tolerant to pain like that. I'd be happy to officially induct you into the Lake Taneycomo Friday Night Strippers Club.....LOL! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Flatbottom Boy Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Ok I'll warn you in advance though I'm much better at shooting ducks than fly casting...and I'm pretty sure you heard how many shots it took to get six that day!
duckydoty Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 That's the cool thing about night fishing....no one can tell if it was a bad cast or not....he he he! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
hknfsh Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Yep....forgot about the maribou jigs Duck. Y'all got me thinking of night fishing now !
fly2fish Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I would use any of the night time flys, pine squirrels, hibenators, bunny leeches, PMS, with a 1/8th oz split shot 8 - 10 inches above the fly and throw it on a light spinning rod. If I have any non-fly rodders with me I use that set up or if there is not enough current to keep the fly moving and the split shot bouncing along the bottom then I would go with a casting bubble and same flys without the split shot. F2F
Flatbottom Boy Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Great idea F2F. I had already got them some bubbles for daylight fishing but I guess the same tactic would hold true for the nite bite. Didnt even think about the streamers with some lead, thanks!
Micheal Kyle Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 For night time IMO the only thing you need is the mohair leech size 10 blood red, electric blue, ace of spades, evil leperchon and the money are my go colors. I would also out some matukas and some blacked nosed daces and Mickey Finns in your box. Just a few suggestions those are my favorites for that 20 years of night fishing Taney, I kniw the pine squirrels work too in a blue and a blood red I just prefer to use the mohair leaches. As for the spin fishing the rapalas 77mm work good rainbow trout and brown trout color. I have a buddy with that is handicapped and he uses that since he can't fly fish and catches the crap out of fish on them at night. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
WoundedOne Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 That's the cool thing about night fishing....no one can tell if it was a bad cast or not....he he he! That's perfect for me. I have trouble casting anyway. It is time to learn this coming week.
