BATCAB27 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 This is kinda cool. I'd be interested to see where they deem "eligible waters" to be. And I'd like to extend an invitation to Al Agnew to be my partner
Al Agnew Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'd be tempted to do it one time just to see how it goes. If they were holding it closer to my home rivers I'd be more interested. Of course, if I bombed, it would ruin my reputation with BATCAB27
Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I've fished a Drew gregory tournamemt. He gave away a Jackson Coosa, NuCanoe and another kayak. Why are they not offering boats? It feels like a benefit to the sponsors.

Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 We finished 3rd last time. Although most of the contestants weren't tournament fisherman. I'm Interested to see how thus shakes out. It's a great way to meet fellow anglers. Lots of good people at the 2011 event. Brad Weigman won the team & individual divisions. Took home the Coosa & NuCanoe. I met Hoglaw and his gf there and we've been friends ever since. Cindy and I might fish it this year.
Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Apparently they aren't stopping in Fayettville. Instead they've got Ft Smith scheduled in late July. That's bad timing, on their part. It's typically 100 degrees that time of year. Sure, you can catch fish but it's miserable for most contestants.
RSBreth Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Since it's literally down the road from me I pretty much have to do it. I think there aren't any big prizes ( kayaks) because it's a smaller stop. I think the regionals have better stuff but it's just 30 bucks to enter - not bad at all. I need to get a Hog Trough measuring stick though, there's another 15 -20 bucks... I'm also waiting to see the boundaries. Lake Springfeild will be out, but what about upper Bull Shoals? Linden?
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 It sounds as if it is one water. They mention a bonus if you top the founders catch on the same water. Given the location, and maybe a need to keep everyone honest, I would guess Springfield, it's close, free, and observable. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
