Mizzou should have put the hawgs away numerous times.....each time they built a nice lead,....had to have been 3 or 4 times, they let them back in instead of putting them away!!! wes clark struggled at the point and it drove me crazy when after a made basket, the tigers dilly dallied around letting arkansas get into their press instead of getting the ball in and going before they had a chance to set it up.....as usual, the 3 guards were good ....the post weak.....and total agreement on criswell!!!

I hate to say it, but I'm about done with Haith. This team is maddening to watch. I don't care how bad your bigs are, sometimes you should let them post up and pass the ball to them, just to keep the defense honest. Once again, no real attempts to get Brown open. Clark handled the press (which isn't difficult to handle the way Anderson is playing it...that 40 minutes of whatever isn't even close to what his better Mizzou teams played) but then didn't have a clue what to do once he got the ball in the front court, just dribbled around above the top of the key until there were 8 seconds left in the shot clock and then panicked and tried to get the ball to Clarkson or Brown to actually do something with it. I did not see him make a single assist. Of course, neither did anybody else. Clarkson continually drives into triple teams...there theoretically should be somebody open at that point, but the bigs have never gotten a pass all year so whey should they even move to an open spot. Brown is almost as bad, though I think he did kick the ball out to Ross for one of his crap shoot threes, which actually went in. And except for a few fast break points (which is really the only thing they can do well) that's the entire offense.

And don't even get me started on the defense.

If i were a missouri guard, I would not pass it to any of those post players either......if they catch it, they don't know what to do with it, then give it away. They are there to take up space and try to rebound!!! ...and that is their role!!! I agree with coach knight, set those bigs up high so there is room to work down below...haith could learn a lot from listening to knight!!! (as all coaches could)

Al, there are a lot of things wrong with this team. But I'm just fine that we basically never feed it into our big guys. They just are incapable of doing anything offensively. 90% of the time it's either a turnover (none of them can reliably catch a perfectly routine pass) or a missed layup. I'd rather have Jabari Brown driving into a double team and taking a tough shot than Rosburg or Keanau Post having a much easier shot attempt. You can't rely on our big men, and honestly I think our guards are smart that they finally realized that. I hate to sound so bitter about it, as they all play hard. But Haith needs to recruit better big men yesterday, or just start putting everything in the hands of JIII and Torren Jones to get ready for next year.

kinda what I was trying to say OTF...!!! so I agree 100% one thing I will say about the bigs......they know how to use up their fouls... J3 and jones also!!! I understand what Al means also......in theory, that is what one needs to do.......

Another huge game against Tennessee this afternoon....3PM ESPN2. Tennessee has some great big men, and might be able to take advantage of our front court in the same way that Kentucky did. But they don't really play defense, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Missouri could just outscore them.

It's definitely not a game I expect Mizzou to win, but it's one they need to win to get back to .500 in the SEC and start making their final tournament case. Hoping for a better crowd for this one. Not getting a sellout for Arkansas was a pretty deep disappointment, though somehow it was our best attended game all year.

That has become a serious, serious issue that may be a direct causal factor to losing two home games this year. But I digress.

I plan to make it there for the second straight game.....from the time the season started I figured Arkie and UT would be important games so I wanted to make sure to go. Sure enough they are.

I'm afraid going to the SEC was as bad for the basketball program as it was good for the football program. We hear so much about how it helped football recruiting, but most good basketball players don't want to go to the SEC as it has been commonly referred to as the worst, or disappointing, conference in the nation. There is a reason it is tough to be good at both sports, choosing the sec shifted the focus to football, that can be seen in basketball attendance and performance, I'd say the Chiefs have a better chance at a championship than Mizzou does at a final four. I hope I'm wrong, but look at the good basketball schools, most don't care about football and their players are the BMoC with the atmoshere at the arenas being unmatched by any sport. When recruits come to visit they want to see a full house and a raucous crowd, on tv it didn't even look like the place went that crazy when Mizzou took the lead against Ark. at the end.
