Members FisherCouple Posted February 22, 2014 Members Posted February 22, 2014 I was hoping to get some suggestions on streams or rivers in the area of O'Fallon, MO, that are good bass fishing waterways or smaller lakes that a kayak can be put on for fishing. Not that familiar with this area and was looking for options that didn't have to include a 3 hr. drive. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Greasy B Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 That a tough one. You and me are both 50 miles from the nearest good float stream. Gas up and hit the road is the only advice I can offer. Members Muddler4 Posted February 23, 2014 Members Posted February 23, 2014 Lake Lincoln at Cuivre River State Park is ok. Since it is one of the few public lakes in the area that you can put a craft on you won't be alone. It's 55 acres so there is a bit of room on it.
PAT92B Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Try fishing the Rockford beach access on the Big river Its about 40 minute drive from Ofallon. I've caught my biggest smallmouth there 3.5 lb the fishing is ok.. The river is kinda trashy alot of old run down vacation homes from the 60's that people live in now. Its not bad once you get up river a little its the closest thing to ozark stream in the area. The access has a boat ramp I have put in there a few times you can go about 4-5 mile up river to Byrnsville mill. At the access there's a old dam from the old mill the best fishing is below this dam you can get a small boat below the dam. There are other accesses on this river that are better but a little further away. Check out Morse mill, Mammoth access or Browns Ford access
